{Maths Game} Clear the Deck

At the moment games are essential part of daily life. Keeping the kids occupied is a battle most of the time. But without school the battle is even more of a task! The game I am about to share with you is one they can play independently or verse each other. It is so fun!

Materials needed:

- Deck of cards without Jacks, Queens and Kings.

Steps to play game:

1. Each player has their own deck of cards.

2. Place cards facing up in two rows of four. (can adjust for younger years, with only three rows) Put rest of deck in a pile.

3. Pair two cards together that add up to 10 e.g. 5 + 5 = 10. Place those cards in a pile.

4. When no other pairs can be made, put new cards down from the unused pile.

5. Winner is the first person to have the whole deck of cards paired up.

Challenge: Have the child time themselves and see if they can beat their time each go.

This extremely addictive game is one that any child will love to play, and can be adjusted if need be. If the child is yet to understand up to 10, take out the higher numbers and add to 5.
